I was just needing some help figuring out the meaning John Mayer's song "Neon". For the sake of convenience I'll inlcude the lyrics. Thanks
when sky blue gets dark enough
to see the colors of the city lights
a trail of ruby red and diamond white
hits her like a sunrise
she comes and goes and comes and goes
like no one can
tonight she's out to lose herself
and find a high on Peachtree Street
from mixed drinks to techno beats
it's always heavy into everything
she comes and goes and comes and goes
like no one can
she comes and goes and no one knows
she's slipping through my hands
she's always buzzing just like
neon, neon
neon, neon
who knows how long, how long, how long
she can go before she burns away
I can't be her angel now
you know it's not my place to hold her down
and it's hard for me to take a stand
when I would take her anyway I can
she comes and goes and comes and goes
like no one can
she comes and goes and no one knows
she's slipping through my hands
she's always buzzing just like
neon, neon
neon, neon
who knows how long, how long, how long
she can go before she burns away
Welcome to a2k, eammae. Is there a part of the song that's unclear? It seems pretty straightforward to me.
there's a whole website dedicated to that... I bet Mayer's song is in there

It's about loneliness,angst,alienation,bed-sit land fantasy and general all-round urban negativity. It's meant to get you down in the hole he's in.
And poorly constructed as well.Frisbee it.
Neon
This song is about a guy who is lamenting about his girl who is hooked on dope. He feels helpless and is describing whats going on with her. The coming and going is typical of dopers continually seeking their next bag. The buzzing like neon should be obvious. The "high" on Peach street must be where she scores her dope. Etc.
