This year The Birthday overlaps the autumnal equinox.

Will you celebrate The Birthday? The Equinox? Both?

I sort of lost count after he passed the Old Took.

His 1111st?

(One thousand one hundred and eleventy first?)

Whaddaya suggesting we do, Noddy?

It's not the right season for naked leaping over the Beltane, fires, is it?

Well, perhaps it is here, being as it is the spring equinox and all. But I, for one, do not WANT fertility...

I'm sure that over in the Havens the ring bearers are firing up the Longbottom Leaf and hoisting a few proper 1420's.

BVT--

Glad you're a Tolkien man.

Dlowan--

The essence of The Birthday is that it be celebrated with individual flair. Remember, 9/22 is not only The Birthday, but the day that Frodo and his Companions left Bag End on the Road to Rivendale--and to Mordor.

I like to make a New Beginning--no matter how small.

Back from lunch with a friend who gifted me with a tourist-art, Day of the Dead picture from Peru. The skeleton wearing the Chiquita Banana hat is a cross between the Bones of Minnie Pearle and the Spirit of Mehitable.

She's most inspiring.

Yes but is your nieces birthday published in a fantasy trilogy that's been read by millions and spawned movies and god only knows how much spin off material? Laughing

sooooo..... how do we know Bilbo's bday?

Did I ever tell you guys (gawd, how many times I heard that opener as a bartender) about the first time I ever got in trouble in school? It was 6th grade and I misspoke Bilbo's name.

Littlek--

One of the addenda to LOTR gives a calendar correlation between Middle Earth and the present times.

I"ll celebrate both! I think Bilbo would be happy and what a great way to ease into a beautiful autumn, getting ready to hibernate for winter!

Thank you for the reminder, Noddy!

Oh, I have fireworks!

Lady J--

I'll be sitting with the hobbits tomorrow, just over the hill from the fireworks display.

I'll wave after the third explosion. Be watching.

I'll keep my eyes peeled and waving wildly in return! I adore those little hobbits. Give them hugs from me!
