Lash disappeared after all her pro Palestine anti Biden nonsense was shown up for what it was shortly after Trump took office.

She also supported Russell Brand's conspiracy horseshit.

Now he's a convicted rapist.

Brandon 9000 still drops by from time to time. He's not an anti-vaxxer – and neither was oralloy. I sort of miss Lash – he/she was so predictable, invariably making claims which were easily debunked and predictions that never came to pass. I miss Builder as well, for similar reasons. I think a lot of them just got tired of never being taken seriously and as more of them disappeared they got lonely, needing a peanut gallery of supporters to maintain their delusional opinions.

Brandon avoids political threads, focussing on the Arts instead.

It very much high school, he has said Roger Zelazny is the best writer.

Zelazny is good, but he's not in the same league as Joyce, Conrad, Burroughs etc. etc.

If he was doing politics he'd be asking us to prove in our own words and from our own experience that the Republicans fared badly.

And by his logic the Republicans are now the biggest party in Congress.

You all deliberately misread Lash, because epiphany is not allowed for some. If she said, "I think this," she was routinely told, "No you don't, because you said something else twenty years ago."

That may have been a factor but the only example I remember is that people said that Lash supported Bush II. I wasn't active on A2K during the Bush and Obama years so that wasn't a charge I ever made. I didn't need to rake up old skeletons because Lash provided so many contemporary examples of confirmation bias, logical inconsistency, and ad hominems aplenty!

Lash was an interesting combination of skepticism and gullibility. It's fine to doubt the veracity of a story in the NY Times but there needs to be a factual basis for doubting a specific claim, not just taking the word of some right-wing nut job

I remain highly cynical of Lash's motives.

Throughout her left wing 'epiphany' she continued to promote far right conspiracy theories.

She supported Palestine by being anti Biden and pro Trump.

See how that worked out.

People very rarely radically change their politics once they're in their fifties.

You could be right, maybe we did misread Lash, or maybe you're too bloody gullible.

Btw, I never told Lash what she believed, I said I didn't believe her.

I read him in high school, There are huge number of sci-fi authors, Roger Zelazny isn't on my list.

I think sometimes he seems a teenager.

Perhaps the truth is in the middle on that aspect. I can tell you from personal experience she was totally out of line with she treated me.

I feel her flips were a lot more about trying to guide the argument into a trap, than convergence from stands of twenty years ago.

I also thought her stand on Palestine was like mine though her antisemitism at times was quite jarring. I really don't think backing Trump and then backing Jill Stein and then back to Trump was foofaroo. Didn't take twenty years, either.
