Tim Curry, star of ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ and ‘It,’ dies at 80

Actor Tim Curry, best known for his memorable role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the cult classic film “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” is dead, according to his longtime manager and friend Marcia Hurwitz.

In a statement to NBC News, Curry’s representatives said he died peacefully at his home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Police Department said a death investigation report was completed late Tuesday night for an 80-year-old man at a home in Los Angeles, though police did not identify the body as Curry.

His cause of death has not yet been publicly revealed. He was 80 years old.

While the English actor cemented himself as a fan favorite for his portrayal of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in 1975’s “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” fans of campy horror and mystery films also remember him for his roles as Wadsworth in the movie adaptation of the beloved board game “Clue,” and as the evil clown Pennywise in the 1990 TV movie version of Stephen King’s book “It.”

He's probably more well known nowadays as the hotel manager from Home Alone 2 than anything else, but he'll always be the sweet transvestite from transexual Transylvania to me. Let's do the time warp again!

@Region Philbis,
I never saw him in Spamalot, and now I regret it.
