According to the "Who's Online Box" down at the bottom of the page it's:
"
Most users ever online was 891 on Sun 06 Jun, 2004 11:21 pm"
891?
So what the heck was happening 6 June 2004? Seems like an awful lot.
A bit before my time.
I don't know. Maybe it was in recognition of Juneteenth a week later.
It was the anniversary of the Normandy invasion, but it seems unlikely that this would register with the majority of A2K participants.
Most of the users (just like today, and any day) were Google bots. Google sends automated "bots" in to Able2know (and every other forums site online) to reindex pages.
BTW, this also explains most of the hidden users.
That's not true (that it was mostly bots or that most of the users on an average day are bots or that bots explain most of the hidden users, hidden users are actually not ever bots as they have to be logged in and have the option to be a hidden user selected in their profile, this is a lot of text for parenthesis....)
Well, whichever way you look at it, it shows an awful lot of interest in A2K, right?
The amount of text in the parenthesis?

We decided to see how many we could get at one time...and break the record. We carefully calculated the mean time when the most posters would be on.
Some got up in the middle of the night to help with this significant task!
Very impressive coordination, 'pan'! Well done!!
What could that mysterious smile on Panzade's face signify?
tongue in cheek??
or foot in mouth?
I'm impressed either way.
Doh! I see it's all been discussed before! Sorry guys!
Seems like it's hard to find something new....
