SENSATIONAL DISCOVERY: SAINT UPID!
During restoration work on a medieval church window, a previously unknown saint was discovered: Saint Upid, patron saint of the clueless, the loudmouths and the self-proclaimed geniuses.
According to legend, Saint Upid possessed an extraordinary gift: He could speak on any subject without needing to know the slightest thing about it. His followers revered him for his ability to present even the most obvious contradictions with unshakeable self-assurance.
Particularly noteworthy is the depiction of his eyes. Art historians suspect that the artist intended this to symbolise St Upid’s ability to look in two directions at once without ever really seeing the wood for the trees.
His most famous saying is said to have been: ‘Nobody knows more about this than I do.’
Although there is no historical evidence of his miracles, he is said to have millions of devout followers to this day.
The Church is currently investigating whether he is in fact a saint or merely a colossal error in human history.
