I was going to guess Raffles for the hell of it. I've only seen pictures of Raffles from the outside, and not lately, so it's just a wild guess.

Funny, I just looked up Raffles now, and it looks like a big tall hotel. I've been picturing this low slung white place with a big veranda.. Maybe that was Raffles #1 and has been demo'd or something. Or, I was dreaming.
CI, I may pick one from this thread as it is probably easier for you, and easier for me re review of all your photos... but
it occurred to me I might like a copy of the one you took of the lot of us in Coppola's (the wine bar where we had pizza) in San Francisco. I remember that I look both buxom and sickly in my bilious green sweater (finally threw that one out - I liked it because it was so soft.. and I usually wore a jacket with it so I didn't always look like a Giant Pea) but that you got a picture of a bunch of us having a fine time. I checked the SF meeting 2004 thread and the photo doesn't show for me... (it's on the third page from the end, back with a link) in order for me to look at it to see if I can stand seeing myself again in that sweater.

osso, Sorry to say, that picture is gone. My son crashed my last computer with that picture, and was unable to retrieve anything afterwards. There's a last possibility that my external harddrive may have that picture intact, but it's also on the blink. I'll have to take it in to see if it can be repaired. Most files on hard drives can be saved, so let's hope it's still there.
That sweater probably crashed the computer..

I like the next one too, but I'd be too tempted to try to paint it in abstract and would spend years getting it wrong. This fan photo I like as itself.

While in Singapore, we were told by our cab driver that rates at the Raffles was from US$400/day to $4,000/day. Too rich for my blood. We stayed at the Regent, a fine hotel by any world standard.
