Power of the Dog

Not sure if any of you have seen the Benedict Cumberbatch movie, Power of the Dog...but Nancy and I just watched it.

For the first 20 - 30 minutes, I asked Nancy, "Why are we watching this?" Her response was, "I have no idea, because it makes no sense...and is not very interesting."

Frankly, at that time, I was pretty sure there was no way it could become interesting, an unusual feeling since I have never seen Cumberbatch in a bad movie. Not even a mediocre one. The guy is a marvel.

But I like to see things through...and finished it.

I ended up thinking it should have won the Academy award for best picture.

It got a lot of nominations back in 2021...but just won Best Director, Jane Campion.
