Theory: Some believe that the U.S. government staged the Apollo moon landings, particularly the 1969 landing, as part of a Cold War propaganda effort to win the space race against the Soviet Union.
Origin: The theory gained traction after the publication of the book We Never Went to the Moon: America's Thirty Billion Dollar Swindle in 1974.
Debunked: Multiple pieces of evidence, such as photographs, videos, and testimonies from astronauts and engineers, have been presented to prove the authenticity of the moon landings.
@jamimartin,
Ha ha ha ha ha oh that's rich.
I hope you meet Buzz Aldrin and try to pawn that nonsense off on him. Because he has been there, done that, and has his own special way of dealing with moon landing deniers.
@jespah,
I guess these folks think that Elon Musk discovered outer space and the moon.
A few months before the moon landing I hitched a ride with a man leaving Vegas. He remarked that they will never land on the moon. "They couldn't catch it. It moves too fast." My grandmother never believed it was real. But their footprints are there. A giant step then they scrapped the program. I know it was expensive but they lost some good opportunities. Oh well. I know we have unanswered needs right here, but that's due to mismanagement of resources.
