Would anyone actually allow it to happen twice?

Saw this in one of my other forums.

It is too funny not to share. It is called, "I got an idea, let's go fishing."

Enjoy:

There was a time when "electrocuted" meant "to be killed by electricity", exclusively, as opposed to suffering but surviving an electric shock. Popular misuse has resulted in the original meaning being loosened and the term can now be applied to experiencing a severe injury through electrical contact as well.

I think that video was hilarious. If you didn't, I am sorry your sense of humor is so...ummm...fragile.

Thank you, Steve. I did try posting it using the [youtube] method, but it would not work. Not sure why, but I'll give it another try when I have another video to post.

The threat of lightening happens often for a golf course. I love golf. But if there is any threat of lightening anywhere near a course I am scheduled to play...I simply opt out. If I am on a course and some thunder sounds...even if far away...I head for the club house.

Standing in water and feeling a hit...should be powerful motivation to get the hell out of there.

No reason to be stupid about a loved activity.

You have to replace (manually type) the /shorts/ part of the link with /watch?v=

Thanks again. I hope it works for me:

When I hit review...it didn't seem to work. I'm going to post this..and if it doesn't work, could you repost it correctly. Maybe I will learn it that way.

I am, shall we say, tech challenged.

@tsarstepan,
Oh, ****!

Yup.

Hey, Steve...do you think the video is doctored, or do you think the performer actually pulled that off live?

@Frank Apisa,
I suspect by his reaction, it was staged or acted. The likelihood is so remote and that he had the same reaction as the first time is unlikely, too. I’m going to rewatch it to see if it was just a repeat loop.
[edit: nope. Not a repeat tape loop. However, I remain sceptical. After the fishing rod has so little metal on it so as to reduce the conductivity to zilch.

Another thing…why is someone videoing these two clownfish fishing in lightning storm?

Great question.

I am very careful regarding lightening. I will not allow myself to be on a beach or a golf course when thunder can be heard...no matter how far away.

The two guys in the water are nuts. The person taping is just as nuts.

@Frank Apisa,
Do you think there might have been the presence of alcohol involved?

Well could be. But there ain't enough alcohol on the planet to make me go out into water during a lightening storm with a metal rod in my hand.

Cannot get over that guy sticking with the fishing after the first hit.

That is dedication.

I listened carefully. Couldn't hear any banjo music. Woulda thunk...

@Frank Apisa,
Frank, you have intelligence as well as common sense. These jamokes have neither. Thats why they’re out in that storm …. fishing.

A not-so-minor point, but fishing rods are typically fiberglass which is an insulator; however, the reel has metal in it.
