Something light and silly. ♫♪

There are any number of fake bands from TV shows or films. Some have catchy songs (and you wish they really existed), while others are cringeworthy.

So, do tell: what are your faves? Videos appreciated as always.

I'll start with Robin Sparkles from How I Met Your Mother.

PS if you're stumped for material, the tags provide some clues.... Wink

Eddie and the Cruisers! From the film of the same name. The actual band is John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. The actor playing the lead singer (he's lip synching) is Michael Paré. Per IMDB, this was only the guy's third film.

Ha! These are great!

This one is kind of a two-fer. The Partridge Family is of course fictional (although they're based on the real life Cowsills). In this episode, cheesy laugh track and all, they introduce a back door pilot for a show called Getting Together with heartthrob Bobby Sherman and a not too well-known actor named Wes Stern.

As you may imagine, Getting Together lasted for all of one season.

Not The ( O Clock News would always end with a musical parody.

And yes, that is a young Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean.)
