Hi

How is infatuation affected when social relations blow up at the office?

A girl at work who is holding a higher position is love with me, in secret, and she is charge of these things...

I've had to relay the events to her, regrettaby, and some of the stories she takes the sides of her colleagues. But she does want to see me....and talk about it

Anyway, is infatuation sensitive to chaos or would you guys expect her to be just as in love with me as before?

@Usernamehere,
I really despise it when people use terms like love and infatuation interchangeably. They're actually different concepts.

Infatuation = someone is attracted to you
Love = someone has deep feelings for you that go beyond attraction and could conceivably become a lifetime commitment

If it's love, then it's durable and stable and it doesn't go away when you have a tiny disagreement. When it's infatuation, that's a lot more likely to happen.

Only this woman knows what she would do, so why not ask her?

Oh, and please stop referring to grown women as girls. It's demeaning.

@jespah,
Okey, how about the term "crush" then . Is that synonymous with infatuation?

She has a crush on me. How is that crush affected by her colleagues getting in a tussle with me. None of them are particularly close to her. But there's still loyalty in effect here. How does she sort this out?

I have suggested meeting just her. I wonder if she will take up on the offer.

Would you bet that she still has a crush on me?

The dictionary disagrees with you

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/infatuation

1. a feeling of foolish or obsessively strong love for, admiration for, or interest in someone or something : strong and unreasoning attachment

2: the object of an unreasoning or foolish attachment

@Usernamehere,
True, they can be used to describe similar states of mind but they aren't always interchangeable.

Infatuation is characterized by intense, often superficial feelings and a sense of euphoria, typically occurring at the beginning of a relationship, while love involves a deeper connection marked by mutual respect, intimacy, and commitment. In love, partners accept each other's flaws and work together through challenges, whereas infatuation is more about idealizing the other person and experiencing a temporary high.

@hightor,
How would you know if it's a crush.

She takes active measures to get in touch with me, or be around me. To me that's a crush. Especially since she was doing it at work.

@Region Philbis,
I no longer work there.

That's part of the tussle....

She rejected the offer, dang..

She is married and has two kids, though

Someone else is in love with me at that work place (my former mentor) who'm she works with so I'm guessing that is part of it.

They couldn't be more alike. One is light, the other is darkness. Extraverted vs introverted. Blonde vs dark hair. Sweet vs obnoxious man hunter, etc.

It's comical seeing them sit next to each other.

So? Isn’t she off limits?!

Alike?! How about the they’re opposites?! Try reading what you write. You make little sense.

What is the question here? Find another stream to go fishing in!

@Ragman,
No kidding! What a waste of time! He probably just hasn't gotten lucky in a while to make all this out of nothing.
