Hello! I want to ask whether or not this sentence is correct: "you still almost lost"

For a bit of context, I was playing a fighting game with my friend and having some banter with him. I nearly won but didn't win win against him because he picked the strongest character in the game. After our match, I told him this: "you're so bad at this game. You may have won but you still almost lost despite picking the best character in this game."

Is " you still almost lost" correct in this context? If not, are there any other contexts in which it is correct?
