Deleted my account today. Why bother with it? If I want to keep in touch with people they can call or text me. 90 percent of what you see is all sponsored advertisements. I for one won’t miss it.

@jcboy,
In January it'll be 4 years since I've been on it but they still haven't deleted my account.

@Mame,
I couldn't believe all I was seeing was ads, all week I was hiding them. I was just over it.

@jcboy,

I was on Facebook years ago, before it became so formidable. At one time, about two years ago, my account was locked because I kept screwing up the password.

Every once in awhile, I get a notice that I can restart my membership in FB. But now I won't. I want to stay away from social media as much as possible. There are so many scams out there, and I want no part of it.

My only exception to this rule is A2K, and I am not on it as much as I used to be.

Facebook is full of scams, that's why we get so many people posting on here about being hacked, they click on the ads and other scam posts. I've never once been hacked but I've also never clicked on anything, including IM's from people sending me a link.

@jcboy,
Same here - I never click on any ads or utilize these games. I actually don't use my real name and I have an email just dedicated to facebook. My password is an ultra long German swear word :-)

I am still there, but have limited my time drastically. If you go to feed and friends then you don't get ads (at least not yet).

I still have my account on Facebook, but I mainly am there to keep in touch with my oldest daughter and my daughter's friend now-a-days. My husband has his account on Facebook as well, but he seldom posts on the site. I miss keeping in touch with friends I once had on FB.
