A2king - posting habits

Where do you A2K from, generally?
Home?
Work?
And at what times?

I notice that many A2Kers post from work.
My question is: How do you find the time? I mean this. I teach. I can't imagine having the time to concentrate on anything else at work, say nothing of posting anything vaguely coherent.

And for you "after hours" posters: do you have a regular A2K routine? Before dinner? After dinner? Late a night?

I'm interested: Do tell! Very Happy

I'm with you, MsOlga. At work, I often don't have time to even check my e-mails during a normal day. I do my A2Kaying strictly from home (or an internet cafe if my 'puter goes on the blink). No specific times of day, just during leisure moments. Generally, I rise early and check out what has happened overnight. I'll do some surfing again when I get home from work. Then, get on line again in the evening if there is nothing else more pressing (or more interesting) to do. As I don't watch TV, as a rule, that leaves a lot of time most evenings.

Would I post at 'normal' work - e.g. from an office - I could get a lot of trouble, since it's not allowed in most firms here in Germany.

But since I post from home that doesn't really matter (although the boss here often says, it would).
The computer is on nearly 24/24, and one A2K window is always open.

I am at home. I keep the computer on from early in the morning, until I go to bed at night (except when there are thunderstorms). I usually do most of my posting early in the morning, and then check A2K off and on during the day.

Recently, I have been posting more than usual. I have had this nasty respiratory infection, and have been at home most of the time for the last week or so. One of the only things that I apparently have the wherewithal to do, is hang out on A2K! Very Happy

Looks like we're mainly home posters, apart from mg. Sometimes, when at home during your (US) I'm amazed at the number of posts from folk who must surely be at work. I don't know how you manage it. Surprised Me, I'm strictly a home girl! And I'm posting more at night as television here becomes progressively more boring & unwatchable.

Oh, I also tend to watch A2K more if I happen to be involved in a "hot" thread.

I post from work. Usually in the morning when I first get in - as I am usually in early; then at lunch time and sometimes in the afternoon when I need to have a few minute break; and then possibly at the end of the day. Seeing about 80% of my work is done on the computer and sometimes I need to wait for information to download - I just fill my in between time. Also, I need to step away from my work from time to time in order to "refuel" myself. Sometimes by stepping away and say playing a word or sentence game actually makes me more refreshed and energized to tackle my work even better. Have you ever pondered hours over a problem or issue? Then step away - go get coffee, do some internet surfing, go for a walk or whatever clears your mind, then go back to the problem and immediately find the solution? I find taking a short break sometimes makes me more efficient at work rather than just continuing to trudge through it.

Work does not mind as long as people do not abuse it. We get the quality work done on time, who cares? Also there are blocks set up so no one can access sites that would be considered inappropriate.

As I am a working parent, my time at home is valuable. I rarely go on A2K at home, simply because I want to spend as much time with my children and husband.

100% from home.

I'm online briefly in the morning before I go to work. I've got an outside job, so at work isn't really an option. Laughing

Then, when I come home I'm sometimes on briefly, but most of my time is done after supper (6:30pm PST /DST).

Also, I split my A2K time with a chess site that I've been on since 1999, but more and more time is spent here.

I'm strictly a homebody poster on A2K. It's all a part of my morning routine. I get up, sometimes early or sometimes late, depending on my sleep quality the night before. I take care of the cats, start my coffee and check my email and read the news.

After that I hit A2K and sometimes will just read the posts without posting anything. Often I will come back later in the afternoon or evening and do some posting, depending if mind and body are in sync. Smile

I am a homebody poster.
My computer stays on all day . As I have a few minutes here and there I post.
I wake up before Bean does in the morning and start coffee , make her bottle then sit on a2k until she wakes. Then we go for a walk, or just play ouside. When we come in, I check and maybe post.. then go back to Bean business.
When she is content for a little while I do my business ( ebay and other stuff).
Her nap time is my biggest online -down time- mostly spent posting here if I dont have to give ebay my attention. Then she is up and i am back to Bean business.
I harldy post in the evenings. Between dinner, bath, laundry and hubby.. I just dont want to sit down.

Having retired three years ago at age 72, I post from home. The amount of time I spend on A2K depends on other activites and topics I'm interest in.

For example, I was on A2K more than usual while tracking the illnesses of the Bear and Blatham. Real concern kept me connected to their threads.

I post at work but only during the slow season. You will notice that beginning in April or May til June or July, I will not be on as much.

Men may work from sun to sun,
But woman's work is never done.

I post from home during the day in between errands and chores. Evening time is my reading time.

Smoke breaks. I walk away from my piano & climb up to the roof for *Air*

--Btw, today was my 1st Day @ A2K, so it's still a bit premature to classify this as a *habit* .....just yet.

However, To Be Continued.
