Okay, I'm up for this. And I say this without ever hearing a note of it.
Ahem: it sucks, mostly because I believe that 97.853% of all music produced in the last twenty years sucks.
Loudness is not creativity, mostly its a cover for the inane lyrics.
Speed,
as in how fast can you pick,
is not a measure of musicality, it's a form of gymnastics.
Angst and anger, while important, are only two of the various human emotions. It would be
artistic to try to express at least some of the others.
Current music is the product of the corporations. They don't write, they don't practice, they don't wonder how to make it better.
They just control the flow.
