My personal favorite

This iteration of CSN is among my favorite music of all time. Their harmonies, overall musicianship, what they wrote in their lyrics, etc. made me listen and watch closely. I just learned why David C. was tossed out of The Byrds. It was due to his beliefs and talking about the JFK assassination. Really?!

Very sad also about Jeff Beck passing. When his albums were announced it was an earthshaking event for me and my friends. I still his (and CSN) vinyl albums and play them.

David, pls let your freak flag fly forever.

Fearless Musical Maverick

I’m watching a somewhat recent Aspen Institute interview with David by Paul Zollo. “Stories and Songs from David Crosby” and “Lyrically Speaking”.

Heartwarming to see his humanity and humor and his reminiscence of the early days of a singer-songwriter and those heady times in our county’s history.I’m floored about what he has to say about such artists asJoni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and himself (as subjects).

I’ll see if I can post the YouTube link. It has 2 parts to it and it’s fairly lengthy but it also has him singing solo and playing acoustic guitar.
