and Eagles.

There is only one vote each for Bengals (Lightning22), Cowboys (JPB), Giants
(Frank Apisa), and Jaguars (tsarstepan).

We regulars bust each others balls often, Izzy, and I suspected that was what you were doing...which is the reason my response was so circumspect. As you know, if I thought you were "giving me the business", I'da reacted with more force.

Now I have to wonder whether your reaction here is just more ball busting...while, at the same time, wondering if anyone else is going to give love to the GIANTS.

Since you are across the pond...let me fill you in on a few things.

The GIANTS managed, in the past, to win the Super Bowl (NFL Championship) from a wild card position (non-winners who earned a chance to enter back-door so that several extra games could be played). Only a few (I think 7 teams) have ever done that, so it is special. I am hoping the GIANTS do it again this year. Gonna be hugely tough, because they are playing the Philadelphia Eagles (ugh, I hate even to type that)...and the Eagles are a very, very strong team this year (arrrgggg, that was even tougher).

So, we will see.

Since you mentioned "defense"...I certainly hope the GIANTS defense is better than mine has been.

I believe the Giants' helmets will be inspected for stickum.

One of the GIANTS great defensive ends once said, "I hate Philadelphia so much, that when I drive to Florida (from New York) I go through Ohio." (Way, way west of Philadelphia.)

For GIANTS fans, any talk of Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, or Washington Commanders...is frowned upon. Those four teams make up the East division of the National Football Conference. Very competitive! Especially this year.

(Sorry for all the side-talk, George, but it does pass the time as we wait for the others to post their picks.)

I look on the Giants in much the same way as you look on the Eagles.

When I was a kid and the American Football League was formed, we kids
split into two camps. There were those who stayed Giants fans -- Boston
was in the Giants' "market" at that time -- and those of us who adopted the
newly-minted Boston Patriots.

I remember those days well. There were a number of us who pretty much considered the AFC to be an inferior entity. We would never ever get to like or root for a team that started out there. For me, it was a very long lasting prejudice. Now I have favorites over on that side also.

I really hate the Cowboys and hope they lose.
