littlek took a marvelous photo, which she was quite proud of and decided this was be a perfect place to place that photo, but her moment was destroyed by the insensitivity of roger when he wrote:
Geeze, though, you don't have to go to the Black Lagoon.

I think it's a great photo, littlek.

Roger.... I need to speak with you.

That's all I wanted, roger --a simple explanation.

Now go apologize to littlek.

But I, k, feel absolutely serene after gazing at your beautiful photograph for a minute or so! What a beautiful, calm place!

Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Very Happy

(Actually Roger, it's not a black photograph at all. It has a variety of subtle grey tones. Very tasteful!)

That is the exact image I saw as I paddled my canoe that cold morning so many years ago. The body lay beneath me, wrapped in plastic and weighted with bricks. I almost tipped the canoe as I worked the body over the side and watched the plastic slip through the surface and descend to the icy depths.

Shewolf, that is one sweet looking puddy tat!

I took more pix at the black lagoon.... looks like a sweet-dreams kind of shot to me.

Ah. Thanks.

Simon and Garfunkel did "The Sound of Silence" back when the world was much younger. It is a great song. It did not inspire any warm, fuzzy feelings. That is a great photo, not less because it induces different feelings in different people.

Thanks Rog. Nothing serious, just fighting with my old computer trying to get high speed set up on it for my son. Took me 4 days/nights, but the horror is over and I sure could use a stiff drink after that stretch Laughing

Nice visual messages. Here's an abriged version of an old poem

The day is done, and the darkness
Falls from the wings of Night,
As a feather is wafted downward
From an eagle in his flight.

I see the lights of the village
Gleam through the rain and the mist,
And a feeling of sadness comes o'er me
That my soul cannot resist:

Come, read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling,
And banish the thoughts of day.

Then read from the treasured volume
The poem of thy choice,
And lend to the rhyme of the poet
The beauty of thy voice.

And the night shall be filled with music
And the cares, that infest the day,
Shall fold their tents, like the Arabs,
And as silently steal away

I heard it on the radio. An ecstatic, incredulous woman rang ABC talkback to report the news: Two whales frolicking happily at a Melbourne beach! Amazing! Me, I was as frazzled as anything, driving around the suburbs trying to do too much in way too short a time. Then I heard the reports. Slowed down. And smiled along with the woman & the ABC presenter. Ommmmmmm Very Happy :

One of two whales, thought to be humpbacks, makes an appearance yesterday off the beach at Dromana. The Department of Sustainability and Environment said the whales, believed to be a mother and a calf, were in Port Phillip Bay for a feed after a trip down Australia's east coast.

Seriously, life is rather tough, terrible & trying.

Please send any soothing, calming, unwrenching-the-gut-type visuals, words, sounds & other calming things here so we all can share them.
