Today I was a kid again watching fireworks and listening to some great live music at Summerfest.

Is it wrong for a 40-something woman to get choked up when the fireworks end?

No! But as a Zen practice, fireworks are perfect - living in the now!


I'm bossy mum this morning, organising my youngest to go on holiday with his wealthy girlfriend's family (has he got enough designer shirts for 4 days?) but once he's gone I'll be sealwoman in the warm pool, curving into the watery element with joy and release.

I am chatoyant, formerly sunniegirl. I'm feeling like a voyeur too. Maybe I can get back into the swing of things here. You do still swing, don't you?

Chatoyant is a lovely name, gleaming and reflecting like a cat's eye.

Today I am me. Not the happy go lucky me; but instead, I am the 'life ain't bad' me. So it'll be a good day, unless I get greedy.
