Started the drive to work, turned on NPR for the morning news, and they are doing continuous, live coverage of the funeral. Really?? During my morning drive?
I understand the fervor or whatever in the UK, but I'm sick of the coverage. It's just not that big a deal to 99% of us here. Sure, stick an update in the newspaper, I get it, but the unending bloody tv and radio coverage is ridiculous.
Yes, it is the end of an era, particularly for Brits, but for North Americans, not so much. I'll be heartily glad when she's finally buried.
What I really love -- sarcasm -- is the play by play on the relatives...Meghan wiped away a tear, Charlotte wore her first hat, William and Harry walked next to each other...this is what flashes up on my phone as news updates!
You cannot get away from it even it you are only streaming on TV or use Pandora for music on your drive.

@izzythepush,
I thought about swimming across the Atlantic Ocean to attend today's funeral. Then I remember that I can't swim or even dogpaddle after walking 20 feet into the ocean off of Rockaway Beach.
You could also be the first to cross the pond by floating on your back, tsar. But you're a little late, I think.

I had had some really terrible time on the autobahn today: the missus watched the event on the mobile (cell phone) with sound via the car's sound system.
