Hello! I live, study and work in Russia. I want to study to be a military doctor in America, and work and live in Switzerland. Do I need to get a medical education in Switzerland (as a state education received in the country where I live and work) if I want to live and work there? I need a student visa, which is not a pathway to immigration to the United States. I must have an overseas residence to which I intend to return after completing my studies. I live in Russia, but I want to move to Switzerland after my medical studies. I have a law degree in Russia. To become a military doctor in America, you have to train to be a doctor and just go into the service and that's the easiest way, but are there others? How Doctors Become Military Doctors in Switzerland?
@Chernova Maria,
You need to contact the Swiss Embassy or write to the Dean of Medicine of one of their medical schools or to their professional organization (in Canada, it's the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons). They will tell you what's required.

First, it's the Swiss nationality, which to get usually lasts very long ( anyone who has been resident in Switzerland for ten years and holds a permanent residence (C) permit may apply to their commune (municipality) or canton of residence for ordinary naturalisation).
Second, you have to do 18 months of army service and get the rank of of lieutenant - but that doesn't apply for naturalised Swiss citizens.
@Chernova Maria,
You want to be a military doctor in America and live and work in Switzerland? Are there American Armed Forces facilities in Switzerland?? Maybe you should just send a note to Secretary Austin for information on how a Russian citizen can get a degree in "military doctor", then work and live in Switzerland. Don't worry about the Russian slaughter of babies in Ukraine, I'm sure the Secretary will be a straight shooter.
