Criminal charge filed in Canada goose death

The killing of a Canada goose on a Murrysville golf course has resulted in a criminal charge against a Murrysville man.

Murrysville police said Jason P. Brahim, 22, of 3564 Dogwood Lane, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct for allegedly beating the goose to death with a golf club.

Police said the incident occurred July 10 as Brahim was golfing with another man, whose identity was not listed on the criminal complaint, at Meadowink Golf Course along Bulltown Road.

According to police, another golfer and his son were on the 15th green when they heard geese squawking and saw a man hitting a goose with a golf club at the edge of a water hazard on the 11th hole.

Police said they advised Brahim and his golfing companion of their Miranda rights and advised them against giving false statements.

According to police, Brahim's companion said they struck the goose accidentally with a golf cart and it ran into the water. He said Brahim pulled the bird to shore and struck it several times with a club to "put it out of its misery'."

According to the police, Brahim said the goose ran into the water, tried to fly several times and then drowned in the pond and that he pulled it to shore with a ball retriever. He said he hit the bird once to make sure it was dead.

Murrysville Police Chief Tom Seefeld said Game Warden Gary Toward of the Pennsylvania Game Commission is investigating and may file additional charges.

Canada geese are protected by federal law under the Migratory Bird Act of 1918.

Brahim did not respond to a call for comment.

Here's yet another of my real popular stories. I guess the reading public just over-looked it, right?

I think the culprit should be whacked at the 11th hole.

Sorry Reyn, I'm oblivious to many threads on a2k. If a headline
interests me, I'll click it and maybe write something to it. This
however, has rarely something to do with the author of the thread,
and I don't think you should sell yourself short in believing it
is something personal.

I rarely open a thread myself because I find it more entertaining
to write comments on subjects others have picked.

So my suggestion to you would be: If you cannot handle and
"zero reply thread" don't open them. Wink

I think the sequence of events happened this way:

1. Stupid neighbor kids had an "early morning" party.

2. Reyn and wife get very little sleep.

3. Reyn wakes up grumpy, with teeth gnashing.

4. Reyn goes to his topics and sees many of the "ignored" ones and wonders why.

5. Reyn writes something stupid.

6. Reyn get wacked on knuckles by Set.

7. Reyn feels doubly stupid.

8. Reyn goes back to bed, as it's quiet and stupid neighbor kids are sleeping it off.

Good idea Reyn - take a nap Wink

On point 4, you have made a logical error though Reyn:
Your threads are not ignored, they're just left unanswered,
as plenty of other threads are. That's all.

Were knee deep in geese back in PA. If that is a separate population like the ney ney (Hawaiian goose) maybe they can be protected, but in PA , they are such a nuisance that we have 2 goose seasons with no bag limits.

I know I was railing on dove hunting , but at least with geese , theres some meat for supper.

He was, no doubt, suffering from "rough rage'

Grrrr...I can't bloody sleep now! Shocked Evil or Very Mad Maybe later.

CJ, I was referring to the few threads that had counts of under 5, I guess. That to me means at least "missed".
