Which sentence is clearer and a better choice:
Before we can schedule the electrician to make the corrections, we need to have them approved by the insurance company.
or
Before we can schedule the electrician to make the corrections, we need to have the corrections approved by the insurance company.

The first one because the second is repetitious (have the corrections approved). However, I would probably say:
The insurance company must approve the corrections before the electrician is scheduled.
