The Bible does not have a principle of abrogation. Later text is not more valuable than earlier text.
As early as Genesis, God says he will never again destroy his people in this way (Noah, remember?) and makes a rainbow to show this. This is the covenant that God made with the children of Israel. Revelation makes God a liar. In the Gospel, Jesus says it is not what goes into a person that corrupts them but what comes out of them. He also says to beware of false prophets coming after him. Revelation makes Jesus a liar. On his death on the cross, he says to forgive his accusers. Revelation makes God and Jesus into psychopathic murderers.
