Hi, I'm currently having difficulties accessing a particular site and that has never occurred before. This error has been coming up for a day or so now, but I can access the site perfectly from other computers and it works. Can anyone help please?

This is what happens when I try accessing the site (using a proxy server)

Problem Report
The system detected a DNS Server Failure while attempting to resolve the host specified in the requested URL.

Message ID
DNS_SERVER_FAILURE

Problem Description
DNS server failure encountered.

Possible Problem Cause
The DNS server is temporarily unavailable, or the network is experiencing transient data loss.

Possible Solution
Try again at a later time.

Pinging returns no results - "Ping request could not find host www.fullmetal-alchemist.com. Please check the name and try again."

(yeah, I'm trying to access www.fullmetal-alchemist.com).

I've also contacted my ISP who said they don't have a problem accessing the site, I believe, so I don't know why I would have this problem... it can't be related to my firewall, can it? Thanks taking the time to read this.

Check your hosts file for the problem, then if not found try using it for the solution.

In short, the first "DNS server" a pc will use is the hosts file.

The next place it will look depends on what dns server is configured for the connection.

If you have the wrong ip for that host in there, then the host won't be accessible.

But if the problem is on the dns server's end, then you may be able to resolve it by adding a correct entry there (I don't know if your proxy setup will foil this).

Can a virus or any malicious code cause a DNS Server Error?I'm using an internet connection which requires to connect to a LAN.I know that the DNS servers i'm using are right, but sometimes i'm unable to connect to the internet or to the LAN because of the DNS Server error.I run the Windows Automated Networking Tests and i get a message like ----DNSServerSearchOrder (FAILED)

since i dont know how to fix this,i usually have to install Windows OS all over again. Can anybody help me out? Will really appreciate some suggestions.

They usually change the dns server to one that gives spam results if they alter dns at all.

Have you tried right-clicking the network connection icon in the task bar and using the "repair" option? Networks can have their glitches and that will cure most of them.

I am facing a strange problem with my Android ACE phone. I am able to connect to Wi-Fi and able to browse Google. But unable to connect to my Internal Servers / network. What is the problem? Will it be an issue with the device or is it the problem with router? Same Server is accessible through my IPAD2!!

My client is telling me that they have not blocked my device from accessing their network.. But my device displays "DNS Error" when i try hitting their server.

So is there any way that I can detect if my user agent or device is blocked by the internal router or network??

Thanks in advance,
Sneha
