News how reliable

Has anyone noticed the lack of research involved in current reporting by news? You used to be able to rely on this. I first noticed this by many local news having errors..strangely after reaching out on their error and they asked me to help them confirm details on another report...weird me doing their job.

That was local ....now I am watching the news on a major network and they are reporting on a more a fun sort of report but they give a blatant error. They are showing a killer whale chasing a boat and they mention that the killer whale looks like a dolphin in its chasing.....duh!!! A killer whale is in a dolphin that is why its swimming following the boat looks like a dolphin. How are we to trust media if a simple fact like this on a national news station cannot get thus right?
