Okay... I have been thinking about this for a while...

What do we know?

She slinks in under the cover of darkness...and yes, solves all the various crossword puzzles... does she write them? Is she omniscient? Is she GOD? How does she do that?? Who is she?

And..

How do you pronounce her bloody name? I know I'm not the only one who has pondering this...

Is it:

Cherie - as in a French endearment?
Sherry - as in a fortified wine?
or Cherry - as in a maraschino?

Who is this lovely lady who drifts in and out, solving crossword problems and leaving so little of herself behind?

I pronounce it the way it was pronounced in the movie Bus Stop.

And yes, she writes crossword puzzles. That's the only possible way she can know the answers.

I didn't realise I was such a mystery to you.

I don't always know the answers but I do get some of the Lovatts magazines so I know some of them. As for the others it usually just takes a bit of googling, something the poster could probably have easily done themselves, but then what would I do with all my spare time?

And to answer the burning question - it's like the fruit. Smile

Only if you're speaking in Victoria England. The only use of whom that I think is used these days is "To Whom It May Concern". It's gone by the wayside, along with a lot of other rules (like not ending a sentence on a preposition).
