My all time Horror (and its a comedy with Lelie Nielsen), was Mel Brooks, "DEAD, AND LOVING IT"
you have a favorite horror, terror, or horror comedy movie?
"NOSFORATU" still kicks the hell out of me,
Anybody remember "FRIGHT NIGHT" ? (The original with Chris Sarandan)
Talking of Nosferatu, a very good film is Shadow of the Vampire which is a fictional account of the making of the film.
In this version the actor playing Count Orlok, Max Shreck, is a real vampire, and the director has promised him the leading lady once the film is completed.
Some excellent performances from a great cast, John Malkovich, Eddie Izzard and Willem Defoe, who was really good as Shreck.

I'd throw in there Dawn of the Dead - the original - I think it is was 1978. Although a true horror movie - it had what I would call funny parts - the whole mall scene and how some of the zombies appeared.
I'd agree also with Werewolf in London - thought it was a good horror mixed with good comedy.
Sean of the Dead was another UK "Hormedy" that was great.

The 1968 version of Night of the Living Dead, by George Romero. Cult classic. Must be seen the first time in a drive in movie or in a movie house in Brooklyn where they yell out “save me the big pieces!”

Best horror I've seen recently was Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining.
Stephen King's novel The Shining is considered to be one of the author's greatest works. Stanley Kubrick's movie, The Shining is considered to be one of the greatest pieces of horror cinema ever made. And yet, the author of the novel famously hates the movie based on his work. Doctor Sleep is the new film that attempts to act as sequel to both book and movie, and Stephen King thinks its so good, it redeems The Shining movie in his eyes.
Stephen King has made no secret of his feelings of Stanley Kubrick's movie. While most people consider it a masterpiece, King believes the movie largely misses the point of the book that he wrote. However, that's apparently not the case with Doctor Sleep. King says the new movie is so good, it actually redeems the Kubrick movie in his eyes.
