"For that is not brought into nature which being in it is not of its own nature, therefore it is necessary that the Agent and Patient be One thing...."
-- Rosarium Philosophorum
So if Agent and Patient be One thing.... then the Screen is Affected by the Crowd. But the Doctor of Philosophy is a singular Agent that stands to affect the Patient, after learning to overcome the Momentum of the Hive. The Hive is naturally going to treat the Medicine as infectious, initially. But the True Agent is said to be strong enough, in and of Himself, to overcome the Hive, but the Agent which is Invincible needs strengthened, in Self.

They have also said that our stone is made of one thing and it is true for the whole magistery is done with our water, for that water is the sperm of all metals, and all metals are resolved into it, as has been declared.

@NoName77,
Agent and Patient appear to be a Water, as the Philosopher’s tell us to “make the outside like unto the inside”.
