Resurrection

On You Tube, I saw a video clip of an exhumed body of a person who died 18 years ago. When the broken down casket was finally opened, the remaining decomposed body was very sad to see. You know, reality hit me like a ton of bricks when I saw the exhumed body.

I came to the realization that there is nothing better than holding on to the resurrection promise God made over and over again in the Bible. You ask: HOW DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE THAT THERE IS LIFE BEYOND THIS ONE, ESPECIALLY AFTER WATCHING THE EXHUMED BODY VIDEO CLIP? I don't have scientific evidence of life beyond physical death.

However, my relationship with God (I said relationship not religion) has placed in my heart, soul, and mind the confirmation that life does not end in a box 6 feet underground. Cremation or burial, we will rise again from our grave into everlasting life with God in His heavenly domain or apart from God in total darkness, pain and confusion. You don't have to take my word for it. Jesus said the following in John 5:28-29:

28 Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.

Death is scary. Death is real. Death is the great equalizer. Death has also been defeated. Death died when Jesus rose again. Jesus' resurrection guarantees that we will also rise from our tomb, cremation or not.

Of course, there is a lucky generation of people that will never die. I am talking about those who are alive when the rapture of the church takes place. I like to call this group of people the LUCKY GENERATION. Life has nothing to offer but hopelessness and despair. The secular world has no hope. They wait for the end of life and gloom. Believers worldwide anxiously wait to meet the One who gave us life.

You say?

Can I ask how old you are? I ask because you seem young but you're quoting an awful lot of scripture, so just wondering.

@Mame,
I am 56 years old. Age is irrelevant here. I have been talking about the rapture since my teenage years. God is reality. The Scripture is true.

@nycdad,
That is what you believe.

There are plenty of people on A2K who think differently, you’re not going to get very far if you keep on insisting you’re right.

@izzythepush,
My duty as a Christian is to preach the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I will never force the Bible down your throat. You can accept the message of Jesus or reject it.

According to the Bible, rejecting God's call to repent and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior leads to eternity without God. This is the Christian message. My duty as a Christian is to give you and others the opportunity to escape the reality of eternity outside the heavenly realm. The choice is yours. Take it or leave it.

@nycdad,
You are threatening people who do not accept your world view.

It sounds very much like you’re trying to ram your beliefs down people’s throats.

The fact that you approve of a criminal huckster like Donald Trump shows how morally bankrupt you are.

Age is often relevant. You could be 16 and completely brainwashed or untutored. Or you could be 56 and completely brainwashed and untutored. The difference is 40 years of living and thinking for oneself and if one has progressed in that time. You say you have been talking about the rapture since your teenage years.

That tells me whom I'm speaking to.

@izzythepush,
I am not going to discuss my personal life in an open forum with a stranger. Let's get back to the topic at hand, which is far more important than anything else I have to say about me.

Read what the apostle Paul said:

1 Corinthians 15:12-21

Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain.
Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied. But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead.

Math Question:

How many people were born on the date I posted? You can't even count that high, right? Back to the thread at hand.

@izzythepush,
Do you think I am surprised that you think I am crazy? I expect this attitude from people that don't know God personally. By the way, the same was said about Jesus.

The religious leaders of His day stated that Jesus was crazy to call Himself the Son of God. The fact is that followers of Jesus through the ages were willing to be fed to hungry lions, burned alive, crucified upside-down, decapitated and the list goes on for their faith. Countless faced death in place of denying Jesus and the transformation He made in their lives.

@izzythepush,
what people hang their lifes philosophy on matters little. It just gets annoying as they carry out their missions of conflating facts ith potry and "just so" tales .

what jebus does to us is based on series of unprovable posulates that this whole story line has any truth at all built in. All Christainity is derived from earlier attempts at installing gods through civilizations prehistory n history.
Basically, you believe in whatever you wih, just leave me the hell alone and stop using public media to caterwhal Bullshit story lines to assrt ones unprovable "guidance"

"Jesus is coming" , Watch for it", its all rootless desert story lines based on earlier desert story lines of other super beings.

@nycdad,
Neither FM nor I would consider ourselves religious leaders, the closest is you.

It was people like you Jesus had the biggest problem with, and were Jesus ever to return it will be people like you who nail him back up on the cross.

You claimed to express humility yet you’re one of the most arrogant people I’ve encountered telling people to read this that and the other.

Jesus clearly had a sense of humour, the book Jesus the Jester is all about his comic skills.

You have none whatsoever, nor a sense of irony.

The greatest irony is you lecturing us all on the afterlife. Heaven won’t remain Heaven very long if they let a humourless control freak like you in. After five minutes of you sucking the joy out of existence the Cherubim and Seraphim will be begging for oblivion or eternal damnation because it sure beats spending any time in your company.

@izzythepush,
If you feel this way without knowing anything about me, disregard my posts. No need for you to continue replying. After you said people like me would crucified the Son of God again if He ever returned is enough for me to say the word IGNORAMUS in upper case letters. Good riddance!!

You claim to be a Christian yet praise a venal selfish hypocrite like Trump.

He is the exact opposite of Christ, the polar opposite.

Of course you would nail Christ up, he’s a Socialist.

Interesting blind guesses you are making here, nycdad...that "God" is reality and that "Scripture is true."

In your OP you wrote, "However, my relationship with God (I said relationship not religion) has placed in my heart, soul, and mind the confirmation that life does not end in a box 6 feet underground."

You really do have a problem accepting that you are just making blind guesses about what does and does not exist in the REALITY of being!

There are people posting here who feel the same way in the opposite direction. They express certainty that NO GODS exist (or certainty that it is more likely that no gods exist than that at least one does)...and they are certain that "death" ends it all.

All they are doing is making blind guesses about the REALITY. Surely you can see that. Why can you not see that that is all you are doing also?

Supposedly that god you worship requires that you be truthful. Why not take the god up on that...and simply acknowledge that you truly do not know (and shouldn't be making that kind of assertion), but that you just want very much for it to be so.

If it is so...if the god exists...it will understand, right?

Your god would not punish you for simply being truthful, right?
