No, she was a subordinate, she was being childish and short-sighted..........she tried behaving as if we were peers which is a pretty stupid thing to do when you are just starting out. I had bigger fish to fry.

I get the feeling that all of the advice people have offered you is falling on deaf ears. All I can tell you is I try not to let the petty stuff distract me, of course I notice it, I just refuse to give others the reaction they want. I think this woman (as you've described her) sounds like a dullard.......but if you want to believe it was condescending, have at it. I see it differently.
