@Dsg1116,
I met my husband through the personal ads (this was in the 1980s; these days, you'd use an online dating site). It made sense because we were able to tailor things. I laid out what I wanted, and so did he. Meeting people semi-randomly in life never worked for either of us. Also, we never would have met - we lived too far from each other.
This can apply to any sort of relationships, BTW.
Look, Covid and 2020/2021 have both been lousy. But they will be done at some point in time. And when they are, consider Meetup, Facebook groups, and other ways to find your tribe. You don't have to love everyone. You don't have to talk to everyone. You don't have to leave your home if you don't want to.
But it is good to connect to your fellow humans, at least at times. All I'm suggesting is to do it on your own terms. For example, if you're a Star Wars fan, find groups of other Star Wars fans and geek out with them, again on your own terms. You will automatically have something in common and something to talk about.
PS HS is drama for everyone.
