Chuck Corea and his band Return to Forever were my introduction to Jazz Fusion in the 70’s. His music holds a very special place in my life. I saw him, Stanley Clarke, Lenny Williams and Al Dimeola (the other members of RTF) live in Charlotte NC in 1976 and it was an out of this world concert.

I can only imagine.

Chick Corea and Return to Forever - Captain Marvel

When I first heard this tune, I was just floored, completely and absolutely floored.

@InfraBlue,
The title song of that album, Light as a Feather, was sung by Flora Purim - what I imagine angels sound like.

Being from greater Boston and not far from world-renowned Berkeley School of Music where he was a jazz pioneer, I became quite familiar with him and am a fan of Jazz fusion. We got to see him often. I have quite a few CDs with him and RTF. He was one of the greats and well respected in the community. He will be sorely missed.
