Is it a coincidence that a co-worker of Steve Wilkos fatally crashed on the same day/area as his dui

The person who was killed was (also coincidentally) a fellow employee of Wilkos and was driving in the same area where Wilkos was drunk-driving when the employee and his wife themselves crashed and were killed while Steve survived his crash; Steve never publicly acknowledged the man's and wife's deaths nor expressed any condolences as far as I know. Nor were their names ever mentioned nor did Steve's show pay any tribute to the two deceased. Anyway I just want to ask if others may have found something through deeper research that I didn't because I like this talk show and this host but this just seems extremely weird.
