Hi Everyone,

I just got this new cat in the shelter today. I am only taking cats on an emergency basis but I couldn't let this one pass. He isn't neutered so I am thinking maybe putting him out to stud. He is a Himalayan and his eyes are so blue. They didn't show up in the picture though. He has papers and seems to come from a good bloodline. He weighs between 15-18 pounds I'd say. His name is Poly. What do y'all think?

He is beautiful, Momma Angel. How did he end up in a shelter with papers?

urs53,

This man came by the other day. He said he and his wife divorced. The cat was hers but she didn't want it. The guy has other cats and Poly fights with them so he felt the best thing to do was to give Poly up. This is the 3rd cat I have had with papers at the shelter. I had this beautiful white Persian once that had a bad bathroom habit. She only used the bathtub so she ended up in a shelter. It happens occassionally and it really breaks my heart.

The guy told me that his ex-wife paid $300.00 for Poly when he was little. Go figure. He is really a doll. I love that face!

No, it is a cat of a person from Danville, CA.
And yes, he is catching a few rays.

My cat just after he'd been tossed out into the snow. He's an indoor cat, these days, who spent most of his outdoor life in GA. Not used to snow at all.

HA! It does. He didn't hate it, but he didn't know what to make of it.

And the eyes indicate future revenge.

That tabby with the green tag is magnificient, satt. I've often wondered how the world looks through those slitted eyes.

Revenge!?!? Not on me, he knows who keeps him healthy. Maybe he'll try to avenge himself on the snow gods. Or my housemate.

Then again, he did throw up on the bed, waking me up in the process, the next morning.

I have been debating on whether posting this picture or not but I finally decided I would. This is the funniest cat picture I have ever seen and I wonder how many of my cats do this when I turn my back! Shocked

Haha, Momma Angel! Ours are so spoiled, I am sure they wouldn't even dream of doing that :-)

Last year during our vacation in Florida we bought a book called 'Bad Cat'. It has lots of pictures of not-your-average cute cats. Very funny and great personalities!

Well, I have a couple of cats here at the shelter that I just KNOW they do this behind my back! The divas!

Cats have the most amazing personalities. I usually don't name one until it's personality really shows. I get so much enjoyment and love from them all!

We chose the names for our two cats just before we picked them up from the vet who got them from a farm. And it turned out the names fit perfectly. Nisse is a big boy, lazy, sleeps a lot, talks a lot... Mysan is Swedish and means something like 'the cuddly one'. And she is such a sweet little thing. She loves to cuddle up in my arms when we are watching TV and sleeps in my bed curled up to my body.

Really? My cats had to earn their names. Even the yard cats. So far only two of them have names - Buddy and Bullet. Buddy speaks for itself; Bullet for his kamikazi approach to the food bowl.

My cats earn their names, too. Screech was a tiny yowler as a kitten. Squirrel cat had several names until I decided on squirrel - she was, you guessed it, squirrelly.
