Problem is, other people would also become shot, too. Even if they weren't extremists. In fact, if it were okay to shoot extremists, the definition of extremist would quickly expand to include everyone with whom one disagreed with.

Obviously, Roger, it should be consensual (you don't want people who aren't extremists getting shot). That is one reason I suggested having zones (call them "freedom zones" for the right wing extremists and "justice zones" for the left wing extremists). Anyone entering these zones would be fair game.

We could have a registry. If you want to kill an extremist, then that makes you an extremist (and they can kill you).

As I said before... the real goal of this thread is for the rest of us to be able to forget the extremists on both sides and get on with our lives.

No way. Standup is difficult, Max could never do it.

While you maybe right, you've gotta admit, the idea is that insane; I could just see some standup comedy potential there.

I immediately thought of "The Purge" movie I linked above the minute I saw this thread. I remember watching that same movie and thinking "not only is this that insane it could be incorporated in a standup routine, sadly there would be people in America that would actually support it and even vote for it and more than just a very small number of Americans too" - looks like I might be right about that.

The really sad parts about it is that; those people consider themselves to be "intelligent". It also says a lot about how much of an inflated sense of self-worth Americans have...

I’m sure some of Max’s nonsense could be worked into a routine but I wouldn’t go there. Mr Goldman is far more fertile territory.

Standup is something than can be learnt, but not everybody can learn it, you need some aptitude.

That's odd, I just realized this thread is missing something.

There are no right-wing extremists here. I wonder what is keeping them away (I think they might be afraid of me).

Off hand I do not think anyone is afraid of you my friend there however is a hell of a lot in the news of late after almost 4 years of Trump to be afraid of.

People are frightened of Max the same way Father Ted was frightened of Father Stone.

It's usually progressives who favor violence against those who disagree with them.

People on the right usually fire their guns at others only in self defense.
