Need help for this song

Hey everybody;
I hope someone can help me with this song. I have tried everything to find it, used some chunks of lyrics from what I remember from the song at Google but it did not work. I hear this song nearly everyday on the radia but always miss the part where it's announced. The lyrics that I remember go like this:
"who's pulling the strings, who's got the money"
and at the end he repeats:
"so hard, so long, so far away"

very strings dominated songs, possibly british, singer sounds like brett anderson.

I'd be very happy if someone can help me...
