an elderly man is fired and his superior describes his childhood. He has a long story how his father bought a roast beef on payday even though they couldn't afford it. They ate that roast beef in every conceivable way and eventually threw it out. He said there was nothing wrong with it. He said they threw it out because it was old meat. I thought this scene was from The China Syndrome but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

thanx, I think one of the actors was Wilford Brimley but I am also not sure about that fact. driving me nuts
