I get notifications on YouTube when people give a like to comments I post. How come their likes sometimes don't register? That's a bit annoying.

I get notices on YouTube when someone likes a comment I posted on YouTube. When I click on the notifications I get directed to the comments I posted under people's videos on YouTube. Sometimes I don't see any numbers next to the like icon under my comments. Why does this happen?

it's possible that someone else didn't like the comment, negating the other person's like.
i don't think youtube sends a notifications when someone dis-likes a comment...

Or the person who originally posted a like retracted it. People on YouTube have the power to negate likes other people post under comments under videos?
