So it this a good idea? To provide the names, ages and towns/cities where these people who were arrested in the protests that went wild.

In some ways - heck yeah - maybe that will show them not to be smashing windows or whatever they have been charged with. Or should they not as they were not convicted yet.

@Linkat,
I would take refuge in the law. If arrests are public record, I can't see why they shouldn't be. Well, I can see some downside to the individuals, but it's not something that would bother me.

I did notice that the daughter of NYC's mayor had her name released. That might serve as some sort of unofficial precedent.

@Linkat,
China operates a 'social-merit' system.
If your score falls below 350 (35%) Your face is 'billboarded' in public parks, subways, cafes, etc.

It's tied-into all AI tech and is mandatory.
If a streetcam assumes you to have been in an altercation - 50pts demerit.
Purchase a 'happy birthday' card - +50pts - ....

Would you like a link?

Have a Lovely Day

@Linkat,
The normal procedure should be followed. If someone did a crime during a protest, it should be the handled the same as any other time.
