What can internet platforms do to avoid lawsuits?

Now that lawsuit protections are going to be withheld from internet discussion platforms that exercise editorial control over content, should we expect to see less editorial control?

If so, what will happen to the level and quantity of vulgarity and other offensive content in internet discussions? And will there be any way to stop the vulgar and offensive content or will it be allowed everywhere due to fear of lawsuits?
