Anthony Fauci is the most popular man in government by far. He is the nation's epidemiologist in an epidemic. He is polling in the mid-seventies. He is admired and respected across America. He is a calm expert, he informs, he comforts and he advises.
On Sunday, Trump retweeted the #FireFauci hastag, leading to calls that Trump was about to jettison him for the crime of disagreeing with our dear leader. The question is whether even Trump has the gall to fire the one person showing true leadership during this crisis.
Trump would be a complete idiot to fire Fauci. I would like to think that even he wouldn't go that far. But knowing all of the idiotic things Trump has done so far... who knows?
Personally, if Fauci is fired.... I would love to see him join the Biden campaign.
@maxdancona,
Just to clarify, I am not suggesting Fauci as VP.
What I am suggesting is when Biden holds a press conference about what he would to do respond to the epidemic, Fauci (his chief medical adviser) would be at Biden's side at the podium.
