Dave is on a glass elevator is going down at a speed of 3 m/s. He throws a ball upwards. At its highest point the ball is 45.9 cm (0.459 meters) above where he released it.

1) How fast was the ball going when the ball when it left Dave's hand from Dave's point of view.

2) How fast was the ball going when it left Dave's from the point of view of someone standing on the floor waiting for the elevator to come?


There are so many posts about General Relativity, the curvature of space and Quantum mechanics from people who clearly don't have the slightest idea of what they are talking about.

So, let's tackle some basic Physics and work up from there.
