A several months ago, I ended a long term relationship. So, after waiting an appropriate time I was ready to jump back into the dating pool. Then this global viral pandemic happened. I have had two video dates... which tend to go as most first dates do, although the awkwardness of a first date for me is amplified when it is over video chat.
I have a games date coming up, we are going to be playing an online board game over video chat with someone I met on a online dating site. She seems fun, and hopefully having something to do rather than just staring into a webcam will work.
Is anyone else moving the dating ritual onto the Internet. How has it been gong? What have you done to spice it up?
@maxdancona,
strip poker? We usd to play strip monopoly.
@farmerman,
Any kind of nudity online has been ruined by stories of revenge porn. Nudity is generally best in person anyway.
@maxdancona,
yeh I suppose. We never did strip monopoly by mail, kinda loses the point
There is this weird little dating app I signed up for (in a fit of extreme boredom). They send me a text every day asking if I washed your hands. If I answer "yes" they send me an anonymous chat with a woman who must have also washed her hands.
Then you converse by text with this complete stranger, sight unseen, where the only thing you have in common is recent hand washing activity.
I got my first "match" last night.... she was funny, we spent most of our time together talking about how weird it was. What do you say to a random stranger that some dice rolling app hooks you up with.
A month ago I would have never done something like this.... I must be going crazy.
@maxdancona,
Quote: if I washed your hands.
Now that is weird - how do you wash their hands? You need to be 6 feet apart
