Hi. I just learned recently there is a bill in Senate being talked about on NPR that if passed and signed by President Trump will grant Americans at least $1200 to live off of.
What is the name of this bill? I want to look up more info about it.
Are they talking about $1200 minimum as a one-time thing, or on a monthly or yearly basis?
Please help. Thank you.
@JGoldman10,
Did you file tax return forms in 2019 or are working now?
@PUNKEY,
Don't worry. The congtrss put a limit of 75,000 to 150,000 in income in order to get the whole 1200 bucks you have to have a income under 75,000 dollar's. In sure when the bill comes out there will nor lots of surprises in it. Like millions for airlines. And 1 or 2 other business as long as there multibillion companies.
Someone told me Senate passed the bill, whatever it's called.
Is it true that if your mother claims you and your brother as dependents and she files taxes that you and your family are not going to get any stimulus payments from President Trump?

No one knows? Okay. This is immaterial anyway - my mother doesn't do any of this.
I hope my stimulus check gets here where I am soon. I hope my mother gets hers. And the rest of my family.
@JGoldman10,
Be patient. They're still sending them out. I haven't gotten mine yet either.
@JGoldman10,
It is called
Basic Minimum Income. The idea is that the government would pay every citizen a minimum amount. Anyone would then be free to make more as they choose (but no one would be without money).
This is not a new idea. It is something that was discussed by Nixon administration.
@maxdancona,
No, he's talking about the CARES Act, a one-time stimulus payment. Andrew Yang is a big proponent of the Basic Minimum Income.
I received my stimulus check in the mail recently. However I'm having an issue cashing it because my mother's name is on it. My mother can't cash it for me, she's still stuck in rehab.

I thought that's where you were the last several years!
