Clearing Land for the Economy

Big bulldozers and other construction equipment cost big money. Operators make big money running these expensive machines and so they are in cahoots with those who make the money building, selling, maintaining, and renting the machines.

Every time you see land cleared and covered with sand, it is a mini ecological holocaust for the sake of filling some pockets with money.

Why can't these people stop killing the land-cover and replacing with their own products just to justify their own inability to live conservatively?

Why?

@livinglava,

Short term profits — human beings are manifestly imperfect creatures. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this: parcels covered with natural vegetation which are providing homes for wildlife, helping to resupply aquifers, and eating up CO2 — and then you see a "For Sale" sign, "3 acres with road frontage" and next thing you know it's a parking lot and an auto parts store which shuts down within a year, leaving a lifeless desert behind. Raise a fuss and you'll be accused of stabbing private enterprise in the back, taking away jobs, and eating children and puppies.

@hightor,
Check out all the closed shopping malls that cover millions of acres of what was good farm ground.
