Should it be 'after' instead?

It is also important to use our present lives to teach others, including our children, about the correct teachings of Nichiren Daishonin so that when we pass on, our children can help us accumulate benefits.

Should it be 'after' instead?

"After" would normally be better. "When" would be more correct if the words following were "our children will be able to help us..."

But it's not a serious error as the meaning is quickly understood anyway.
