Space to share ridiculously easy, uncomplicated and cheap solutions to problems which would have cost lots more money if you did it the way you're "supposed to".
My kitchen exhaust fan/vent has always been crap.
Pan frying a steak involves either smoke alarms going off, or opening windows at whatever time of year.
I'm going to be in the market for a new house soon, and notice most kitchens have a microwave over the stove top, rather than an exhaust system.
So, I was looking online for a portable system to put on the counter for when I needed it. Not very successful.
Then, I was walking through Walmart the other day, and saw this tiny little air purifier for a very small space for $14.99
Put it with the back (filter) side next to fry pan and hey presto! Just enough suction. No smoke! When the filter poops out, I can just put a damp dishrag over the fan blowing out, and catch the smoke that way.
