Thanks/Many thanks/Thank you

Exclamation marks are independent of these words and phrases. And that's true with probably every bit of punctuation for the end of a sentence (apostrophes are a bit different as they change meaning).

But you can write Thanks! Thanks. or Thanks? And yes, there's a bit of a difference in meaning, but they are all permissible.
